7th Corporate T20 Cup kicked off at the DHA Sports Club (Moin Khan Academy), Karachi with a low scoring encounter between Momin Seeds and National Bank of Pakistan, won by the NBP by 9 wickets.
This same pitch the night before witnessed a high scoring game between at the DHA SportsClub XI VS Moin Khan Academy XI, where 200 plus runs were chased and two batsmen scored 100 each. Tonight pitch was helping the spinners; the reason NBP spinners’ send back whole Momin Seeds team to the pavilion for just 55 runs.
Momin Seeds batted first and find themselves into all sorts of the trouble as pitch starting to support the spinners during the initial overs of the power play. The top order of Momin Seeds collapses severely as three batsmen went back to the pavilion without troubling the score. Middle Order had no clue about happenings, stranded their team on 12 for 8. It was the tail Enders who rescued the ship and added 43 runs to the team’s total. Two batsmen were able to cross double figure mark, Haider Ali 12 and Muhammad Ali 15. Karman Ghulam picked up two wickets for 15, Raza Hassan also bowled brilliant bowling spell in the power plays finished his four overs with 10 for 4, while talk of the town was Bilal Asif, who bowled an unbelievable bowling spell in which he had delivered four maiden overs also picked up two wickets, Muhammad Asghar also had two scalps in his spell.
In reply, NBP batsmen finish the game in a hurry to register two important points on the table. National Bank of Pakistan lost only 1 wicket of Kamran Akmal in the run-chase picked up by Ashiq Ali. After the dismissal of Kamran job well finished by Shan Masood (39 off 31) and Ahsan Ali (16 off 16) in the 9th over of the innings. National Bank of Pakistan batsmen were looked in good control, as compared to Momin Seeds batsmen.
Tomorrow night there will be a doubleheader, in the first game Omar Associates are going to play against Candyland at 8 pm, while in the second game of the night State Bank of Pakistan will be playing against Pakistan Air Force at 12 am.
