Butler’s scintillating ton helped England secure A tense win as Fakhar’s 138 goes in vain.

Pakistan took on England in the second encounter of the ODI Series with Pakistan included Yasir Shah in side for Amir, while England featured with the same XI. Pakistan opted to bowl first after winning the toss, hoping to get some help for the pitch early on.

Roy and Bairstow made an aggressive opening stand for the home side by smashing Pakistan’s pace attack all over the park. Bairstow brought up his half century in 44 balls, but soon he was undone by Shaheen Afridi for 51, with hosts at 115-1 in 19 overs. Root joined Roy for the second wicket stand and both added quick runs for the 2nd wicket stand. Roy’s half century came off 44 balls as he went on to make 87, before being dismissed by Hasan Ali. Root made 40, as Yasir Shah got the better of him, with England at 211-3. Morgan and Butler joined for the fourth wicket stand and the pair got a great liking to the Pakistan’s pace attack. Morgan made a brisk half century off 29 balls, as Butler’s blistering half century came off just 26 balls. The pair added 100 runs in 64 balls, as Butler’s scintillating hundred came off 50 balls. Morgan went on to make unbeaten 71 off 48 balls, while Butler remained unbeaten on 110 off 55 balls, as England piled up 373-4 in 50 overs. Shaheen Afridi took 80-1 while Imad remained economical with 63-0 in 10 overs.

Chasing a massive target of 374, Imam and Fakhar begun the innings for Pakistan. The pair put on the solid start of 92 in 15 overs, as Imam was undone by Moeen Ali for 35. Fakhar scored a half century of 42 balls, as Babar continued his good form with the bat. Fakhar raced to his ton off 84 balls as Pakistan completed 200 in 30th over. Fakhar was dismissed by Woakes for 138, while Babar made a brisk 51 as Rashid had him caught and ball, as Pakistan remained at 233-3 in 34th over. Asif Ali and Haris Sohail joined for the 4th wicket stand as Asif struck few lusty blows to bring Pakistan back in the game as they needed 100 off last 10 overs. Haris was undone by Plunkett for 14, Sarfaraz joined Asif Ali for the 5th wicket stand as the required run rate remained at 10 RPO. Asif scored a terrific half century off 34 balls. Asif was dismissed right after his half century for as Pakistan needed 49 off last 4 overs. Imad was undone for 8 while Faheem could manage only 3, as fell 12 short of winning mark and ended up at 361/7 , Sarfaraz remained unbeaten on 41 . Plunkett took 62-2
