Winning streak continues for Gladiators.

Unbeaten Quetta Gladiators opted to field first against Multan Sultans in the first, Sharjah leg game of HBLPSL, with Multan playing Dan Christian, Russell, Evans, Vince and Quetta featuring with Rossouw, Watson, Smith and Fawad Ahmed as foreign players.

Vince provided a solid start for Sultans with the flurry of boundaries off Nawaz but he was trapped in front for 28, as Multan scored 51 runs in the first power play. Shan Masood struggled for his 18 and he stumped off Fawad with Multan at 56-2. Dan Christian and Shoaib Malik completed the rebuilding phase for Multan as the pair put on 73 runs in 8 overs. Malik brought up his half century for 34 balls but soon after his fifty he was caught off Tanvir for 53. Russell smoked few lusty blows in his 18 runs knock. Afridi was lbw on the first ball as Multan’s innings closed at 160-9 in their 20 overs. Nawaz picked up 28-1 and Fawad got 22-1.
 
Ahsan Ali and Shane Watson provided a brisk opening stand for Quetta in pursuit of 161, Watson scored flurry off boundaries while Ahsan rotated the strike. Irfan got the first breakthrough for Sultans when he had Ahsan caught off Nauman Ali for 9. Quetta reached the 50 runs mark in the 6th over, with Watson and Rossouw added 56 runs for the 2nd wicket stand. Watson raced to his fifty off 29 balls but Afridi finally had the better of him for 61, but Umar Akmal and Rossouw’s stand took Quetta over the line in 18th over, as Quetta clinch 8 wickets victory to continue their unbeaten run in the tournament. Russouw remained unbeaten on 67 while Umer Akmal scored 17.
