Du Plessis ton made it Southafrica’s day.

Pakistan had an eventful start to the day 2 by dismissing Amla off the second over of the day; He was bowled by Abbas of a ball that turned 34cm off the wicket. De Bruyn joined skipper Du Plessis and both took their side to 149  when Shaheen got de Bruyn for 13 and Pakistan sensed a major comeback in the game but Bavuma and Du Plessis steadied the ship and surpassed Pakistan’s score, taking their side to lunch at 188/4

The second session of the play didn’t bring the good news for the touring side as both batsmen scored freely against Pakistan’s bowling line-up. Pacers looked helpless against solid batting of both batsman took the team to at 281/4 at tea. Pakistan remained wicketless in the second session.

Shaheen Afridi provided the breakthrough for Pakistan in the last session of when he had Bavuma caught behind for 75. Captain du Plessis let his bat do the talking after a failure in the first test. He scored a fighting hundred of 209 deliveries. De kock scored some quick runs too as the visiting bowlers had a pretty forgettable outing. Shaheen struck again in the later part of the day to dismiss du Plessis for 103. Philander and deKock safely negotiated last few overs to end the day at 382/6 with a solid lead of 205.
