Those were the days, when India-Pakistan game was labeled as one of the top encounter in cricketing world. Before Asia Cup across the borders hype was created by the media and the fans, it was complete anti-climax when India outclassed team Pakistan in group match game. It was once again a fairly less hype created for the game between both countries for a super four game, but fans from both countries weren’t able to see a close encounter from both countries. India dominated Pakistan’s team and outclassed them once again in all departments. Indian openers made a major contribution to run-chase when they were chasing 238, both scored hundred each, smashed Pakistani bowlers to every corner of the ground, 210 run stand made almost a mockery of Pakistan’s bowling attack.
Pakistan winning the toss against India, decided to bat first again and decide to try their luck once again in the same tournament, Pakistan never recovered from a poor start after choosing to bat on Wednesday in the group stages, slipping to 3-2, and it was crucial that they do not lose early wickets today, as per their plans they started their batting with some sense of not losing early wicket to India, but soon after introducing Chahal by Indian captain Imam lost his composure and given away his wicket, with the help of some wise decision by MS Dhoni behind the wickets as it was given not out by the field umpire, hawk eyes shown it was hitting the leg stump and was a successful review, followed by the Fakhar Zaman, who has just hit SIX over deep squar leg in previous ball, was trying to go for sweep but failed miserably as ball reached him very late, it was another brilliant delivery by Kuldeep. Everyone was expecting Malik to come at four, but captain Sarfraz decided to promote himself at this position was become the root cause of the run out of Babar Azam who was playing better cricket in the tournament compared to Sarfraz. Malik joined Sarfraz at the crease when team was 58 for 3 and team was once again in need of his brilliance as he did 2 nights before in Abu Dhabi against Afghanistan. Both put 107 runs together, Sarfraz (44) again tried to hit out of the park and failed again in the same tournament could only find Rohit
Sharma on the bowling of Kuldeep. Malik (78) and Asif Ali (30) both put a quick 38 runs partnership, after the dismissal of Malik Pakistani lower order couldn’t capitalize the platform set by Malik for them and could only manage 34 runs in last seven overs.
Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan kicked off India’s run chase. They were chasing 238 and their side was looking for their fourth successive win in the competition. Pakistan was in the hunt of some early wickets. India was cruising and after 20 overs they were 107 for no loss, Pakistani bowlers were clearly struggling and wasn’t able to stop both openers by hitting boundaries. As time passes both openers kept their strong grip on this game and Pakistan’s captain and fielders were looked totally out of the shape and wasn’t able to control the happenings and it was completely dictated by both openers and they brought up their double century partnership followed by another brilliant Hundred by Shikhar Dhawan, second for him in the ongoing tournament. This 210 run stand finally comes to an end with misunderstanding between both prolific openers; it was Dhawan who was short of his ground to end an opening stand. Rohit and Rayuddu easily completed their remaining required runs in their run-chase; meanwhile Captain Rohit Sharma completed his ODI career hundred. It was a completely one sided game. India is most probably going to make it to the final of the Asia Cup 2018; Now Pakistan must beat Bangladesh on Wednesday in Abu Dhabi to clinch their spot with a good run-rate, if Afghanistan managed to win their game against Bangladesh and India.
It is high time for the team management of team Pakistan to sit down and layout a perfect plan and find out the major issues in the team, they don’t have much time to get into the conclusion as this event is going to be placed in the final moments now, where they have to win their both if they manage to win their game against Bangladesh, then they be able to qualify for the final and can have a chance to take revenge of these two worst wins against India. https://twitter.com/bhaleraosarang/status/1043942838206156802
Player of the Match: Shikhar Dhawan gets another player of the match award in ongoing Asia Cup; He had hit another top-class hundred.
Shikhar Dhawan: “I enjoyed my game and I’ve been in good touch and wanted to make the most of it. It’s a good batting track and I have enjoyed the balance of it. Pakistan got a good bowling attack and I knew that as openers we had to stay and once I got set and I kept carrying on. As I’ve mentioned I wanted to be sensible with my shots and I’ve thrown it away in the past and I have learnt the lessons the hard way. ”
Pakistan 237/7 in 50 overs (Shoaib Malik 78, Sarfraz Ahmed 44; Jasprit Bumrah 29/2)
India 238/1 in 39.3 overs (Shikhar Dhawan 114, Rohit Sharma 111*)
Twitter blasted out after game:
And while Pakistan have an outstanding production line of bowlers, they have a small shelf-life. Instead of getting better inherently good bowlers have been going downhill. Irfan, Junaid, Wahab, even Amir https://t.co/8KkdzqmglG

One-sided ODIs are the worst. The bowlers don't enjoy the advantages that they do in Tests, and the batsmen don't face the run-scoring challenges that they do in T20Is.

Pretty comprehensive win for India. Dhawan especially seemed to be batting on a different pitch from the Pakistan batsmen. And Bumrah was special in a game where every other bowler looked ordinary #PAKvIND #AsiaCup

Fakhar wasn’t actually out today or in his last innings but he wasn’t confident enough to review the decisions. Moments like these make me miss Shahid Afridi who once tried to review a fucking wide ball decision by the umpire.

Rohit Sharma scored 111* & Shikhar Dhawan 115. It's the 7th time that both Indian openers got 100s in the same team innings in ODIs and the 1st time Indian openers did against Pakistan. Well played @ImRo45 and @SDhawan25 #PAKvIND #CricketStats pic.twitter.com/c85orGJqCy
